Jacking equipment inspection and BOP/well control equipment survey

At the request of our client, an independent Operator, ModuResources boarded the jackup Prospector to conduct a Jacking System Equipment Survey prior to the rig commencing operations.

The purpose of the survey was to identify any potential issues that could impact the client's drilling campaign. At the time of this survey the Prospector 5 was located at Quay 1 of the Able Seaton Port in Hartlepool, UK.

The main safety concern during the jacking survey equipment survey was the protruding gratings installed at the forward leg, forward chord. The gratings sections were found improperly secured to the platform structure. The main technical concern was the oil sampling maintenance practice at the jacking units and auxiliary equipment.

A month later ModuResources returned to Hartlepool to conduct a BOP and well control equipment survey. The BOP functioned correctly and no obvious issues or defects were observed.
