  • Customized Condition Survey: Conducted an in-depth and tailored survey, leaving no detail unchecked.
  • BOP Review: Rigorous inspection and testing of the well control equipment.
  • DP Review: Comprehensive examination of the Dynamic Positioning system for precise operations.
  • System and Controls Review: Ensured seamless integration and operation of critical systems.
  • NPT Review: Analysed Non-Productive Time to improve efficiency.
  • Crew Competency Assessment: Evaluated the crew's competency for optimized rig operations.
  • DROPS Review: Preventive measures were taken to ensure safety and prevent incidents.
  • Critical Spare Parts Review: Ensured availability of essential spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • HSE Review: A thorough Health, Safety, and Environment review emphasized our commitment to safety and environmental protection.
  • Ready to Drill Integration Testing: Successfully executed the integration test, verifying full operational readiness for drilling

Let's take a closer look into the inspection of the Well Control Equipment (WCE).

The drillship’s well control equipment underwent a rigorous acceptance inspection and testing process. The MR surveyor arrived during ongoing BOP maintenance activities. As the system was not fully ready, a document review of recent maintenance, equipment certificates, NDT testing reports, and rig procedures was carried out. General visual inspections were performed on cavities and ram blocks, and rubber goods storage was assessed.

The MR surveyor  later returned to continue with testing and inspections based on the ModuSpec technical checklist, incorporating the contractors Lessons Learned. The choke manifold was visually inspected and function tested, and it was accepted as is, with pressure testing scheduled later.

The BOP underwent full pre-deployment testing, including pressure testing, function testing, emergency systems testing, and control system soak testing. The diverter system was also tested to API standard, with operational issues identified and subsequently rectified. A power supply issue in the yellow pod subsea electronic assembly was addressed.

As of the surveyor's departure, all major and critical action items on the Well Control Equipment Action Tracker had been satisfactorily closed.
