Technical oversight/rig inspection services during reactivation for Major Operator
ModuResources Australia was contracted by a major Operator to provide technical oversight and rig inspection services during the reactivation period and IAT (Integrated Acceptance Testing) of the Maersk Deliverer semi-submersible drilling rig.
Our client in Australia was in the process of contracting the Maersk Deliverer semi-submersible drilling rig for operations in the Ichthys Field in the North-West Shelf of Australia. Upon winning the tender for technical services, ModuResources were contracted to provide technical oversight and rig inspection services during the shipyard rig re-activation period, and also during the transit from Singapore to Australia. Furthermore, our client was pioneering the use of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) in Australia, and contracted ModuResources to provide specialist MPD services and training.
ModuResources has provided continuous coverage, from the shipyard stage, contract acceptance, IAT at standby location in Australia, and this is currently still on-going. A team of 5 personnel travelled with the rig during its 24-day transit from Singapore to Australia. The team consisted of a Senior Mechanical Surveyor, Senior Electrical Surveyor, Senior BOP surveyor, Senior Systems & Controls surveyor and Project Engineer.
ModuResources was the primary focal point on the rig for our client, and attended daily meetings, worked closely with Maersk, witnessed acceptance tests, provided comprehensive corrective action lists, monitored progress and produced detailed technical reports. The rig was successfully accepted by this major Operator and currently on location in the Ichthys Field.
ModuResources was able to provide Quality through our people, systems and communication. With our head office in the heart of Perth CBD (St Georges Terrace), we were able to visit our client's office regularly to offer real time solutions and prompt services. Working closely with this client and listening to the client’s needs enabled us to tailor our services to the project specific requirements.
